I used some different tools for this piece, some that I had been waiting to use for some time after the course I did with Emanuele Dascanio in 2021. I had previously experimented a little in my sketchbook so I had some idea how these new mediums would lay down and work together, but it was still an absolute delight to see how this piece developed.
I never managed to meet ROCCO, when he was alive, but in the creation of this piece I kept imagining what his character would have been like, especially after hearing about him from his owner. I was struck by the reference photo for this piece, it seemed to capture Rocco's playful nature and Im so pleased how this artwork came together, I hope it will be cherished and used to bring back happy memories of a much-loved pet.
