Watercolour and ink on toned paper.
Wanting to infuse my artwork with an explosion of colour and pattern, the outcome is this creation. Initially inspired by the whimsical persona of the Mad Hatter together with a festival feel, I then enhanced the elaborate patterns of the clothing and makeup. The result is a portrait of a dynamic, vibrant character However, sensing a need for even more madness, a purple bird finds its perch atop her head, embodying her spirit of fun and freedom.
