Watercolour and ink on toned paper.
Each personal painting I undertake is driven by a unique “hook” that captivates my interest. In the case of this portrait, it was the unconventional pose with the hand in front of the face, combined with the vibrant colours and intricate patterns in the clothing, that intrigued me. When there is nothing to pique my interest, a painting is rarely completed to my satisfaction. By following these hooks that spark my curiosity and imagination, I can create artworks that truly resonate with me.
