"Did Someone Say Play?" captures our family dog Bella in one of those wonderfully playful moments that sums up her character. Inspired by a photograph taken by my husband, Bella is perched on top of a stool with her favourite bone proudly held in her mouth — looking as though she has just been caught in the act!
I love painting animals when their personality shines through, and Bella’s cheeky expression and playful pose made this moment impossible to resist. It is those little quirks and familiar expressions that make our animals so special and give us the memories we treasure.
This portrait is a celebration of Bella’s playful spirit and the simple joy that animals bring into our lives.
