About this artwork

50 x 70 cm |Oil, newspaper, collage and markers on canvas | 2026

The Power of the Mind explores the fragile boundary between chaos and genius — the space where unconventional thinking becomes vision. The work portrays a figure suspended between madness and brilliance, embodying the paradox of the visionary mind: restless, fragmented, and profoundly creative.
The character appears emotionally and psychologically charged, suggesting instability and intensity rather than calm rationality. Expressive marks, layered textures, and spontaneous gestures reflect the turbulence of thought — ideas forming, colliding, and transforming faster than they can be contained. The mind here is not orderly; it is alive, unpredictable, and expansive.
Fragments of newspapers introduce the noise of the external world — expectations, judgments, and collective narratives — against which the individual intellect defines itself. Marker lines and sprayed elements function like visual traces of thinking itself: impulses, corrections, obsessions, and flashes of insight. The composition embraces imperfection, emphasizing that innovation often emerges from disorder rather than control.
The figure represents the archetype of the misunderstood visionary — a person perceived as eccentric or unstable, yet capable of perceiving realities invisible to others. Intelligence becomes an act of courage: the willingness to think differently and to exist beyond accepted boundaries.
As part of the series Icons of Power, the painting examines mental power as a transformative force equal to physical strength and creative energy. Here, power is not domination but perception — the ability to imagine new worlds before they exist.
