About this artwork

„The stiletto is a feminine weapon that men just don't have.”
— CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

"Desire" — not only passion, but aspiration, status and projection.
Painted in oil on layered newspaper, the work places symbols of luxury against a surface saturated with information, headlines, and everyday narratives. The high-heeled shoes, instantly recognisable as objects of desire, function as contemporary icons. They represent ambition, power, and the promise of transformation, while simultaneously exposing the mechanisms of consumption and projection. Desire here is not innocent — it is constructed, marketed, and endlessly reinforced. The dripping white typography introduces tension between craving and absence, suggesting that desire is always slightly out of reach — suspended between fantasy and reality. Desire is part of an ongoing series examining modern myths shaped by fashion, music, and identity, where objects and figures become vessels for longing, influence, and self-definition.
