FUGAZI is a mixed-media work examining the illusion of success and the performative nature of power.
Built from layers of oil paint, collage, and original newspaper fragments, the composition references the visual language of finance, media, and desire — where value is constructed, repeated, and ultimately destabilized.
The central figure appears suspended between confidence and exposure, surrounded by symbols of wealth that function less as trophies and more as fragile props.
Text, currency imagery, and gestural marks disrupt the surface, reinforcing the idea of fugazi — something presented as real, yet fundamentally hollow.
This work continues the artist’s exploration of contemporary myths, confronting the viewer with the tension between aspiration and emptiness, spectacle and truth.
