RED is an original textured mixed media painting and the second artwork from my THE GEOMETRY OF COLOURseries.
This series explores how colour, geometry and texture can completely change the energy of a space. In RED, strong red geometric forms become the focal point, contrasting with layers of neutral tones, black marks and a richly textured surface.
The painting was created through multiple layers of texture, colour, shading and hand-painted details. Geometric lines, circles and expressive marks are built into the composition, creating a balance between precision and the imperfections of a handmade surface.
From a distance, RED feels bold and energetic. Up close, the painting becomes much more tactile. You can see the different layers, subtle colour changes, shadows, rough surfaces and small details created by hand.
The strong red elements make this geometric wall art particularly effective as a statement piece in contemporary, modern, minimalist, industrial and eclectic interiors.
I wanted RED to bring colour into a space while still retaining the raw, sophisticated character of textured mixed media art.
