LUNAR GRAVITY is an original textured mixed media painting inspired by the relationship between the Moon and Earth.
The large silver form represents the Moon, while the smaller grey circle suggests the Earth beneath its influence. I used genuine silver leaf to emphasise the Moon and create a surface that reacts beautifully to changing light.
The painting is created through multiple layers of texture, paint, shading, marks and small details. Scraped surfaces, subtle imperfections and visible layers give the artwork a tactile quality that becomes especially noticeable up close.
The restrained palette of silver, grey, warm neutrals and black creates a calm, sophisticated presence. LUNAR GRAVITY works particularly well in contemporary, minimalist, Japandi, neutral and modern interiors.
From a distance, the composition feels simple and quiet. Move closer and the layered textured surface reveals much more.
