Norwegian Seas plunges the viewer into a world between surface and depth — part underwater garden, part Arctic shoreline, entirely its own. Tall, flame-edged forms in deep crimson and acid yellow surge upward from a rich, red-tinged base, their edges burning as though lit from within, like kelp catching the last of the northern light. Against a ground of pale aqua and teal, they read as both plant and fire, rooted and reaching.
The mid-ground opens into a luminous, hazy space — ghostly marks, looping lines, and a swirl of yellow-green suggest currents, tidal movement, or the shimmer of the aurora reflected on cold water. A warm band of amber and coral cuts across the upper canvas like a horizon glimpsed through mist, anchoring the composition in a specific, if dreamlike, geography.
Rich in texture and layered with detail, Norwegian Seas rewards close looking — there is always something new to find in its depths.
