About this artwork

Moonlit Panic is a painting of urgent, disorienting energy — a landscape caught in the grip of something unresolved. Deep pools of forest green and near-black dominate the centre, shot through with arcing lines and crossing forms that suggest collapsed structures, tangled undergrowth, or the fractured geometry of a dream. Against this darkness, a warm sandy ground of ochre and amber pushes in from the edges, as though the light is trying — and only partially succeeding — to reclaim the scene.

Splashes of white scatter across the surface like moonlight breaking through cloud cover, illuminating fragments without ever revealing the whole. The composition is dense and layered, with marks that read as both deliberate and instinctive — a controlled chaos that keeps the eye moving, searching.

There is genuine tension in Moonlit Panic — a sense of something glimpsed at the edge of vision, of a landscape that refuses to settle into safety or calm. For the collector drawn to psychological depth and painterly complexity, this is a work that lingers long after you've left the room.
