I work mainly in Oils, watercolour, pastels and mixed media. I am fascinated by the world around me especially the natural forms in which I see parallels with the human form. I feel a strong affinity with places and their history. I love the atmospheric qualities of light and space and the feelings they invoke.

I was born in 1957 in Preston and now live in Almondbury near Huddersfield. I gained a BA in Artand Design from Bradford in 1981, the same year I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. After college I worked on community projects including mural painting and photography before becoming a local authority disability access officer. I continued working until 2009 when I took early retirement.  I have since re-connected with my creativity and am expanding my portfolio.  I exhibit locally and run art classes in Almondbury. Teaching others has proved a valuable learning experience and continues to  influence my own development.
