This piece is hand-painted using acrylic on card; this landscape is an exploration of colour and light through an impressionistic lens. The work was built using a series of bold, textured layers, beginning with the expansive blue of the sky and the distant, cool-toned mountains.
The foreground was developed with a more rhythmic, expressive application of paint. I used thick, decisive strokes to create the rolling hills and the singular, vibrant tree, allowing the primary colours of the foliage to pop against the softer greens of the meadow. By utilising a high-contrast palette, I aimed to capture the intense radiance of a clear day in the peaks. This piece emphasises the emotional 'vibe' of the landscape rather than fine detail, focusing instead on the movement of the sun and the lively spirit of the natural world.
