This work is based on my daughter who is a dreamy sort of girl yet strong and beautiful. I wanted to give the painting an almost surreal quality where traditional meets unexpected. The colours and the background are soft and neutral yet the floral motif stands alone, not blended into the background paint attached to the central figure yet also floating in ambiguity. They depict my daughters dreams and aspirations in this uncertain time of her life.
