'Harriet 1' is the first study I made of my dog Harriet. It was the first full drawing (rather than a quick sketch) I’d made for 15 years. This drawing was based on sketches and photographs of Harry. I was trying to capture one of her serene moments – ears up and listening, but relaxed with a steady gaze. This drawing was made using a 0.1mm technical pen and ink, on watercolour paper.
