'Harriet 3' is the third study I made of Harriet. It was based on sketches and photographs of her I’d made over a number of years. This was her classic Mona Lisa pose – you never knew quite what was coming next – a slow tail wag followed by a pounce, running around with mad delight at top speed, or just an outstretched paw wanting a fuss. I really wanted to capture the look in her eyes here, as this pose was all about holding your gaze and your attention until she was ready to make her move. This drawing was made using a 0.1mm technical pen and ink, on watercolour paper.
