I live in rural Northamptonshire, and have returned to my interests in art and art history since finishing my career which has always encompassed mental health. As a clinician, manager and later national lead across a number of programmes and commissioner in the NHS, I have always sought to understand and recognise the vulnerablility of the human condition, and its impact on the life of individuals, families and communities.
My work often reflects this, everywhere I visit in persuit of immersing myself in modern art (particularly European) has examples, just a street away, of the difficult and dangerous places that people sometimes find themselves in.
I also love to celebrate the rhythm and vibrancy of the village where I live, along with my wife and two very playful yorkshire terriers. The music of the Clash, The Jam, Stiff Little Fingers, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine and others feeds my soul.
