The Bridge of Sighs is a famous landmark in Oxford, and a popular subject for artists and photographers. Officially named Hertford Bridge, it spans new College Lane, and joins two parts of Hertford College. Designed by Sir Thomas Jackson and completed in 1914, its colloquial name comes from its similarity to the Bridge of Sighs in Venice.
