I am an abstract impressionist artist living in London. Born in Armenia, I am
shaped by my Armenian heritage. My art is an exploration of the dynamic interplay between light, shadow, and colour. Since immigrating to England in 2001, the ever-changing landscapes around me have become both inspiration and canvas — a source of endless discovery.
I work primarily in oils, acrylics, and soft pastels, while sketching in gouache.
Impressionism and abstraction guide my practice, allowing me to capture both the visible beauty of the world and the unseen emotions it evokes.
My work reflects a deep fascination with light’s ability to transform colour and mood. Through vibrant landscapes and emotive portraits, I channel personal and universal emotions into abstract expressions intended to resonate with joy, harmony, and hope.
Influenced by artists such as Van Gogh, Sorolla, and Zorn, I strive to create paintings that are not only visually engaging but also emotionally restorative.
I believe the act of creation connects us with our inner selves, and it is my hope that my artworks foster a sense of peace and healing for those who experience them — a bridge between artist and viewer through the shared language of colour and light.
My artistic journey has recently reached two meaningful milestones. In August 2026, I received the Excellence Award in Visual Arts at the Women in Art Biennale London 2026. I was also delighted to have my painting The Golds of Autumn selected for The Discerning Eye 2026, taking place at Mall Galleries, London. These recognitions encourage me to continue exploring the expressive power of light, colour and emotion through my work.
