This watercolour was created from one of my own photographs taken at Horsey Beach in Norfolk. The young seal in the foreground immediately caught my attention, with its inquisitive expression and pale colouring, while the resting seals behind create a natural backdrop. I wanted to capture the individual character of these beautiful animals in their coastal environment.
