We went to the chaser public house fir lunch, to meet Maggie's old mate from secretary college, (when they used type writers and carbon paper, when we were teenagers). The chaser is named after the hourse that they used to lend to carts coming down the steep hill, acting as a brake. Chatham was one of the busiest shipyards in the world fir hundreds of years... We say "shiburn" for " ship - bourne"... The road taking the equipment to build the ships in our kentish accents. It is a lovely village. Our youngest daughter had her 4th birthday party in the village hall... Hope I have caught it in my watercolour. Please allow two weeks for a glicee print. I keep the copyright.
