A photo shoot at barden lake led to this watercolour on 185g/ m2 acid free paper. There was a mallard duck in the photo, so the reflections and shadows aren't gosple. There is a moment when they transfer from flying to swimming and hopefully my photo caught it & hopefully my painting has captured the beauty of the feathers fluttering in a controlled stall as the elegant glide becomes a messy transition to swimming. And. They always seem to look around after they have preened a bit as if looking for a mark sheet to be held up by olympic style judges ...or is that just my imagination?. Please allow me a couple of weeks to arrange a glicee print and I will retain the copyright.
