Back at the beginning of March 2020, when the Coronavirus took hold of Switzerland, I realised just how quickly life, as we all know it, can change. This triggered memories of our holiday last September 2019. Together with our dear friend Christine Eusebio we spent a week in Chania, Crete, Greece.
We were spoiled by everything “local”, fresh sea food, vegetables, and the delightful Mediterranean wines.
It was a great opportunity to visit the 4,000 old years Minoan civilization site, the art works, architecture and the jewellery design of that period were truly humbling!
When I started this painting I had an idea of a “happy holiday snapshot”, capturing the moment of joy on a far away island, with its open sky and endless horizon, deep blue sea, the gentle breeze.
Whenever looking at the painting, the happy memories return, positive and firmly resolved!
