From 1968 to 1972 I studied painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. After graduation, I worked in the field of visual communication while raising my family. At long last, in 2016, I had the opportunity of fulfilling my long-cherished dream of becoming a dedicated painter.
In 2019, I entered an art competition by Artists & Illustrators in London, where my painting “Sunday Brunch at Nicky's” was shortlisted and exhibited at The Mall Gallery in London. This juried show encouraged me to continue my painting journey with renewed dedication.
My work is primarily representational. I enjoy depicting portraitures, landscapes, and still life. My preferred medium is oil on canvas.
Influential Masters:
Van Gogh: for the immense energy and enthusiasm
Da Vinci: for the tremendous intellectual capacity and inquisitiveness
Vermeer: for the ability to translate tranquillity on to canvas
As an artist, I am inspired by the quiet unfolding of my life’s journey—often drawn to the tranquil lakes, gentle hills, and majestic mountains of Switzerland. In these landscapes, nature reveals moments of stillness and light that speak to something timeless. My work explores not only the visible beauty of the world but also the quiet spirit that breathes beneath it. Through each painting, I hope to share a sense of wonder, serenity, and connection with something greater than ourselves.
