This painting was constructed in ‘23 with collage, drawing, and many layers of paint beneath the surface. I have used scratching, mark making, areas of light and dark, my favourite colours and shapes and a softening edge. The fusing of these elements and organic vibrant green tones brought to mind the poem by Dylan Thomas - the inevitability and optimism of the creative green energy of plants, which I love. This artwork has already been framed and painted with farrow and ball Downpipe Grey.
