This is a Japanese style watercolour I did for a card to give out. I love Oriental art mainly from collecting and observing decorated porcelain from early Chinese dynasties and Japanese periods to the 19th century. Similar to watercolours, painting on these ceramics are done in one go with no room for mistakes and I admire the way Oriental ceramic art is stylistically simplified and sometimes quite purposely off perspective in which I have attempted to recreate here in a similar classic Oriental pallet.
