Rooted in the vibrant cultural tapestry of London and shaped by my Armenian heritage, my art is an exploration of the dynamic interplay between light, shadow, and colour. Since immigrating to England in 2001, the ever-changing landscapes around me have become both inspiration and canvas — a source of endless discovery.
After an early retirement, I embraced the freedom to fully dedicate myself to creativity. I work primarily in oils while also exploring acrylics, gouache, and soft pastels. Impressionism and abstraction guide my practice, allowing me to capture both the visible beauty of the world and the unseen emotions it evokes.
My work reflects a deep fascination with light’s ability to transform colour and mood. Through vibrant landscapes and emotive portraits, I channel personal and universal emotions into abstract expressions intended to resonate with joy, harmony, and hope.
Influenced by artists such as Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Sorolla, Sargent, and Zorn, I strive to create paintings that are not only visually engaging but also emotionally restorative.
I believe the act of creation connects us with our inner selves, and it is my hope that my artworks foster a sense of peace and healing for those who experience them — a bridge between artist and viewer through the shared language of colour and light.
