I was born in Russia, former USSR, to Russian mother and Ukrainian father. When I was six month old my parents moved to Tranthcarpathia in Western Ukraine which picturesque landscapes will inspire me in my painting  later on.

As a child at school I loved art lessons and it seemed the only thing that I wanted to do is draw and paint.

After school I passed my entry exams and was accepted at the College of Applied Arts where I became one of the leading students. I graduated from College with Distinction.

Since 1983 I worked at the Design Office which specialized in making first electronic gadgets and toys at the same time studying Graphics at the Distance Learning Polygraphic Institute. My latest job was teaching art at the College of Culture.

Mostly I work with oil on canvas and my favourite subjects are the landscapes and pets. I derive a lot of inspiration from impressionist artists. Michelangelo, Rembrandt and Rubens also are favourite of mine from  early years.

Wherever I go I carry a sketchbook, looking not only for interesting patterns and harmonies of colours, shapes and lines, but also for subjects that move me emotionally in some way. My method of working is to capture the essence of a place using plain air sketches and taking photographs.

My goal is not only to create a beautiful piece of work, but also to live an impression, a memory, or some feeling with the viewer long after they have seen the painting.
