Victoria is interested in natural forms especially by the shapes created by the female body and how the media and everyday pressures change women, both positively and negatively.
The use of various cameras such as 35mm, Polaroid and medium format are always present in Victoria?s work whether to use as a resource to work from or to use as the final image as the grain which is present by using film instead of digital gives a different feel to the image, an in-depth look into someone?s past, never feeling like the present.
Recently Victoria has been looking into the use of suggestion within her images by often disposing of a body in the photograph and allowing what is left behind to tell the story and also by keeping certain parts of a body within the image to allow the viewer to decide for themselves what is happening, allowing an interaction between the audience and photograph.
Victoria often works in a sequence and looks to Cindy Sherman and Anna Gaskell to inspire and influence her work.
