I am a Scottish painter; Glaswegian, living in Reading and painting within Reading Space Studios. My work is in the main figurative,but more recently I have been concentrating on still life as subject matter, exploiting the myriad variety of objects found within my studio by way of visual reference.
My paintings emphasise the use of colour to explore forms, space and structure, but also to express those subjective elements which emanate from within the process of making a painting. Consequently, surface texture, gesture and manipulation of space and form play a vital role in the development of both composition and the outcome/content of the painting.
