Amy was born in Sunderland and currently lives in County Durham, England, with her family. From a very young age art has always been a favourite pastime of Amy’s.
Being largely self taught and without any formal art college training she spent time creating pictures for friends and family before setting up her website www.thefrogspyjamas.co.uk , Amy has also started to become more involved with children’s book illustration which has long been a passion of hers.
Amy is a published illustrator but her first major publication will be ‘Twinkle and the Little Red Ball’ by Patrice Marotta which will be published in Spring 2014.
Inspired by the art work of Quentin Blake, Beatrix Potter and Mairi Hedderwick, Amy uses watercolours to give her pictures a more free flowing feel. She loves using fairytale and fantasy characters in her work and gets ideas from everyday life turning them into something magical
with a little bit of imagination.
A lover of the outdoors Amy has always enjoyed hiking, exploring the highlands and islands of Scotland, archery and she now keeps a small flock of Shetland sheep.
