Being the daughter of a professional artist, I was exposed to art and creativity from an early age. However, the pressure to pursue a stable career meant my artistic interests were put on hold. After 40 years in business, the stillness of Covid allowed me to reflect and take my “foot off the pedal,” marking the beginning of my professional artistic career. The transparent beauty of watercolour immediately captivated me, despite its reputation as one of the most challenging mediums, I’ve always embraced challenges!
This led to an intense period of study across Europe and beyond, from the mountains of Tuscany to courses with various “Masters,” helping me develop my own style and explore different mediums. I was fortunate to find a mentor in a Professor from Boston, USA, Yong Chen who has become a friend and continues to guide me, offering invaluable support during moments of self-doubt. I feel truly blessed to have such encouragement from him, as well as from my adored daughter and husband.
My main mediums are watercolours and inks, creating unique wall art, inspired by the world around me. Following the death of my beloved father, I discovered a passion for portraits, and I am proud to have completed commissions that now hang in homes across the globe, from India to Florida and many countries in between.
Creativity and innovation are at the heart of my work, and I often explore other mediums such as acrylics and resin, always returning to my treasured watercolours and inks, while occasionally creating unique pieces in different mediums. Using a “toolbox” of techniques, I work closely with clients commissioning bespoke pieces, ensuring each artwork is elegant, original, and crafted with the highest quality materials. The joy of collaborating with clients to bring their vision to life makes the creative process truly rewarding.
