I am learning watercolour and really love it, although I do find it frustrating when it does not turn out the way I planned,(I guess this applies to everyone). I know that I will get better the more I practice and at present I am enjoying painting flowers from the garden. I have learned a great deal from dvd's, books etc and especially enjoy Geoff Kersey's dvd's. Since my retirement, I am so glad I decided to have a 'go'at painting, it is pure joy and the hours just drift away. I have noticed that I now look far more closely at nature's colours and forms and the relaxation this gives me is truly a marvellous benefit. My biggest fault has to be impatience with starting a painting. As a friend, who is very accomplished at watercolour, told me, "it is all in the preparation\"". I must try harder!
