I was born in East Yorkshire and became a professional artist after retiring from teaching. I twice won Visual Arts and Crafts awards to help me finance two very successful Solo Art exhibitions in Beverley Minster. This Exhibition has been kindly sponsored by local businesses.
I have also participated in joint exhibitions, done demonstrations, tutorials and workshops to a wide range of ages and abilities.
I work largely in oils, watercolour and mixed media focussing on the changing landscape around Hull and East Yorkshire. I also enjoy working on landscapes of Yorkshire scenes and Provence with its lovely Mediterranean light. My work often depicts the hidden as well as the obvious features of life in the town and countryside.
Portraiture, especially of animals, is also a strong aspect of my work.
I regularly undertake commissions in all of the above and also aspects of houses and gardens
