The lifelike water-colours of Sally Jane Perrin form a visual diary, recording and preserving the transient beauty of the natural world. Her cottage garden and the surrounding countryside in Hertford Heath, Hertfordshire, provide a constant supply of flora and fauna subjects, while holidays by the sea bring opportunities to paint seashells and other beach-combings. Every painting features careful attention to scientific accuracy and faithful rendering of colours. The Society of Botanical Artists has shown her work every year since 1996. In 1997 she was awarded the Society's prestigious Certificate of Botanical Merit for the accuracy of her work, and was elected to membership of the Society in 1998. Sally has also exhibited at the Medici Gallery, the Mall Galleries with the Royal Society of Marine Artists, and had two successful solo shows. Her work has been published by the Royal Horticultural Society, and Sally produces her own range of greetings cards.
