Ruth qualified as a graphic designer specialising in illustration in 1986. She then gained a teaching qualification. Since then she has spent her time as an art teacher working in high schools and colleges. After leaving mainstream teaching, she ran the sucessful Art studio 'Wickerfish' in Mawdesley Lancashire for 12 years. She has recently relocated to Sedbergh in Cumbria where she shares a studio space with her partner and fellow artist Stuart Gray at Farfield Mill. Here they work and sell their paintings. Ruth enjoys painting in a variety of media but her first love is watercolour.
