I live in Currie to the west of Edinburgh and studied part-time at Edinburgh College of Art under Edward Gage and Jack Firth. Commissioned animal portraits and equestrian portraits have formed a considerable part of my output, however, I now concentrate more on portraying the landscape in its varied seasons around my home.

I have long been a follower of the work of the late James McIntosh Patrick, the celebrated Scottish landscape painter. McIntosh Patrick?s influence can be seen in much of the subject matter that I portray in many of my paintings.

My work featured in the biography by Ron Thompson on the life of James McIntosh Patrick entitled ?Easel in the Field?.

My work has been included in exhibitions at:

The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours
The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts
Art et Facts Gallery, Edinburgh
Cairns Gallery, Peebles
Colinton Arts, Edinburgh

I have twice been a Scottish Finalist in the John Laing Art Competition and was a finalist in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year 2009 competition. One of my paintings was also shortlisted for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year 2011. My paintings feature in private collections at home and abroad.
