Rob Broadhurst
Self-taught artist, Rob Broadhurst was born in Ulverston, Cumbria, close to the fells of the English Lake District. As a child he explored the mountains with his family, inspiring him to draw and paint the beautiful landscapes.
His love of Art developed quickly and encouraged by his teacher Stephen Darbishire, (now a celebrated artist.) was beginning to win art competitions from the age of 10 yrs.
Further education then lead to Rob qualifying as a Civil Engineer in 1987.
However, Rob also continued to follow his first passion for painting and drawing, and in 2005 studied watercolour painting at Evesham College. As a result and drawing from both his engineering and artistic mind, he now produces his own style of water colour and ink work specialising in buildings, town and city scapes.
In 2009, Rob joined the Worcestershire Area Network of Artists exhibiting in local galleries and in 2010 held his first solo exhibition of his work in Newport, South Wales. This exhibition ?Summer Blues? displayed a broader range of work in various mediums and other subjects he enjoys painting, including landscapes and, beachscapes.
In 2011 his latest Cityscape works have been displayed in Birmingham City, with an example now placed on permanent display opposite the ?Mailbox? shopping centre in the new boutique Coffee lounge ?Café Blend?.
In May 2011 Rob set up his own studio and gallery based in Pershore, Worcestershire ?Rob Broadhurst Art? located at, Crown House, 2 Church Row, opposite Pershore Abbey.
