In this contemporary independent world we have forgotten to build up and work on trust and respect in relationships. I believe there is a need and room for understanding between two minds to be together for longer. My painting focuses on developing this strong bond emotionally and physically. The sleeping position symbolises togetherness and love which we all can build in our relationships. There are two figures which are not actually entwined, suggesting that although they have different characters, they do want to work it out together and are determined to put effort and bring a change for a better future. The depth and colour of the furrows and ridges of the sheet in the painting really describe the challenges and exhilaration of human relationships.
