Born in Yorkshire and having attended school in Durham I trained to teach PE & music at Loughborough College.
Having taught in the Midlands for 11 years I then returned to College in London to train for ordination in the Church of England.
For the past 20 years, while in parishes in various parts of the UK, I have painted as a means of relaxation. I am self-taught although my wife, Rosi, is a trained art teacher!
We have spent a total of 12 years on the Isle of Man which is a beautiful place with much scenery to inspire the artist. The light is also particularly clear and varied as I have experienced in Cornwall. I am particularly interested in sunlight and shadow.
