My name is Francisco Martín Peralta, but my friends call me Pancho. I was born in Buenos Aires on February 18th, in1977, in Palermo. Now I am living in Lanus with my girlfriend.
I have drawn since I can remember. My first influences were illustrated books about dinosaurs and animals. Later I was influenced by comics like Herge’s famous Tintin, Asterix and Sempe’s Little Nicholas. When I grew up, I discovered Robert Crumb and great Argentine draftmen like Copi, Max Cachimba, Chichoni, Scafati, Langer, and many others. At the same time, I started to study the feminine figure and the animals with human features.
I love to draw in small size papers, on a messy and stained table. I draw on any kind of paper. Only recently I have started to pay attention to the paper textures, especially when I paint in watercolor.
Some years ago, when I met my girlfriend, I also came across photography during a journey to Patagonia thanks to an old Zenit camera which belonged to my father in law. I continued taking photographs as a hobby. Although I have a digital camera now, Iwould like to practise a little more with old cameras and manual techniques. My favourite compositions are landscapes and wild animals.
After working on many jobs that I didn’t like (with exception of a job as ice-cream maker), My partner and me decided to create El Dodo, a studio specialized in web design, graphic design and illustration.
