I began painting full time in 1996 and made the decision to specialise in transport subjects although I can easily be persuaded to return to my former theme of animal portraits. After trying many different media I now paint mainly in acrylic, gouache or alkyd oils.

I have had paintings exhibited at several exhibitons including - The British Society of Painters at Ilkley (where I have been a prize winner twice); the Derby City open exhibition; the Patchings Award exhibition; the Pierrepont Gallery and the Bexhill 100 Festival. From 1996 until 2011 I was the artist-in-residence for the Crich Tramway Village, and for a number of years I was an elected member of the Guild of Motoring Artists.

Commissioned subjects include cars; lorries; steam locomotives; motor cycles; trams, even a submarine (no, not in watercolour), and previous clients include, Metroline; Felix Bus Services; Potteries Motor Traction; Skills' Motor Coaches; Conwy Borough Council; East Lancashire Coachbuilders, together with  several independent bus and coach operators, and many private individuals.

I publish many of my paintings as prints and my work has featured on greetings cards, postcards, calendars and jigsaws. Each of my limited edition prints carries an embossed stamp of authenticity, and is individually signed and numbered by me, and the number of copies is strictly limited. I have around 100 different prints, of buses, trams, railways, cars, lorries, motorbikes and aircraft.
