I have been sketching all my life mostly cartoons and fantasy art style, but since i took a course with professional artist philip gray over a year and a half ago i have not stopped painting, he was an inspiration then and still is today. He teaches us to paint in a loose style which i have to admit was very hard to do at the beginnning due to my years of detailed sketching, but i am glad to say i have overcome that obstacle to a degree thanks to the palette knife, he is a seascape and landscape artist so my influences lay in that direction for the moment but i hope to broaden my style to other genres at a later stage i am just loving what iam doing for now.
I began painting just as a leisure activity, something i had been meaning to do for a long time but never really took the time to do it until philips course came along and now it has opened up a whole new world for me, people liked my paintings and bought them which inturn inspired me to do more. I began with pastels but now my medium is oils, i just love the vibrancy and freedom i get with them.
