This world is sometimes just utterly overwhelming. So many negative things happening that we just cannot change from our little life bubble. It can be anything from awful, unjust wars and aggression – to people around us who are the way they are with no chance of change no matter how much love we send their way. One just wants to lie down and wait for it to get better… which does not help either of course. So what can one do with loads of paint lying around? One lets their frustration out on the canvas.
Beside the harsh colours and sharp forms the off-balance composition also intentionally underlines the upset mindset depicted.
This piece was exhibited in London and I was lucky enough to speak to a couple who liked it. Their interpretation was that the light colours represent the positive things coming my / our way. I like to think they will be right eventually.
