My love of painting began in early childhood watching my uncle paint in his studio. The smell of oil paints never left me. I drew compulsively and dreamed of becoming a painter,  but for many years the piano took precedence, and I painted only during holidays. Later, when I moved to London, I attended classes in the Heatherley School of Fine Art. But the month I spent in India at the Attakalari School of Art in Kerala in 1994 had a profound effect and inspired many of my paintings, exhibited in London, in Greece and Belgrade. From 1995 onwards, I have had exhibitions in Scotland, Leighton House, Ilford Gallery and Steven Berkeley Gallery in London, in Germany, in Greece and in Belgrade. I sold paintings in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, USA, Arabia and UK. In 2001, paintings inspired by the poems of the 13th century Persian poet Rumi were published by HarperCollins in the book of Rumi's poetry Hidden Music.

Music and poetry have been a great source of inspiration and fuelled my interest in exploring the connection between different art forms. I found that the process of distilling the experience of words, music and nature demanded constant change of style and medium in painting.
