Born in Newcastle upon Tyne,I studied Fine Art and Ceramics for three years at St. Hild's College,Durham University.
As a fully qualified teacher I have taught art in schools but mostly run private classes and courses as well as individual tuition.
In the 80's and 90's I owned and ran Cartmel Craft Centre, Cumbria, where I exhibited my paintings in the Threshing Floor Gallery.
Following this I lived and worked in France for almost ten years, before returning and settling in Cumbria.
I love to use colour and exciting surface texture in my work.I now concentrate on oils and acrylics.Often using both together on the same canvas.I am particularly interested in using metalic finishes and impasto to gain particular effects.
I also contiue to work in water colour and commissioned pencil drawing portraits.
In the past 40 years I have lived and worked in the North and South of England as well as in France and the Netherlands and now have paintings in private collections in this country,Wales, Scotland,France and America.
