I am a self taught painter from Lincolnshire and have painted all my life, winning my first art prize at 9 years old and progressing in recent years to winner of Still/Life category in the SAA National competition 2001 with "10 to 1 it's an Iris" W/C and then the overall prize for both amateurs and professionals.  In 2003 W/C "Bramley Basket" gained Highly Commended at Patchings Open, then won Best in Show at Bullyard Gallery, Southwell.  In 2004 the same painting won Best Still Life at Sheffields "Art in the Gardens" exhibition.  I also have two paintings featured in International Artists books "How Did You Paint That", Still Life and Flowers and Flowers and Gardens, published 2004 by North Light Books.  They are 1 "Recolte de Provence" and 2 "Iced Gems" respectively.  I became featured Artist in the Arts section of Lincolnshire Pride Magazine in 2004 along with some of my paintings and more recently have gained "Highly Commended" for painting 3"Black, White and Red all over", again at Patchings 2011 open.  These last three named paintings are on my webpage for you to see.

I have also exhibited my work in many local venue's around Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, notably the Carre Gallery Sleaford, the Ferens Hull, and further afield at Patchings in Nottinghamshire and also at Londons Olympia.  I have also held one woman shows at Spire Gallery, Louth, Alford Manor House, Grimsby Library and twice at Utterby Parish Rooms near Louth.

Over the years I have turned my hand to painting on silk and then to watercolours, all self taught and setting me on the road to becoming known as a colourist, with the aim of trying to become a better painter through experimentation with all mediums.  I am now in the throes of further experimenting in oils by layering of many vibrant colours onto white oil painted canvas and in watercolour through the use of watercolour ground/gesso on card and canvas with highly pigmented paints to develop texture and pattern within the painting.

So, with a keen eye and desire to paint what I believe to be beautiful and hold most dear, you will see emerging from my art collection those special people, my favourite flowers, fruit and china, my love for cats, and anything else that catches my eye along the way.
