North East Seascape artist Kate Van Suddese has exhibited her dramatic, stormy and distinctive seascapes throught the UK for over 25 years. She has shown in group exhibitons including the Mall Galleries in London and has held very successful solo shows in the Red Rag Gallery (Worcestershire), the Biscuit Factory (Newcastle) and The Leith Gallery (Edinburgh). Her work is collected nationally and internationally. Kate's seascapes are created in series but always progressing, seeking new ways to capture the elusvie nature of the sea. Each series informs the next, creating planned and unexpected diversions. Kate's bold, dynamic use of paint perfectly expresses the hiden emotional agenda, whilst the luminous and ethereal use of light and colour gives substance to her desire to capture our need for beauty.
"The sea is a wonderful catalyst for every emotion experienced and stores a wealth of history, whimsy and drama in its folds, we cannot help but love and fear it in equal measure" Kate Van Suddese.
after many years of creating only original oils, kate has recently decided to put a small collection of her work into print. The print edition of each image is 27. Kept small to retain the integrity of both the orignal and the prints themselves. No other edition of the works will be produced in any other form.
The prints are created to archival standard using the Giclee print process with archival Canon Lucia ink. They are printed on beautiful hahnemuhle German etching paper 310gsm and double mounted with a 3" mount. each actual image size is 38cms x 38cms .
