This is a mixed media artwork on board that started with collaged pieces including sweet wrappers, shiny papers and torn magazine images. I added acrylic paint once the bare bones of the image were constructed. It is based on a visit to the Cambridge Botanical Gardens where beehives stand by the greenhouses. The blue irises add a strong foreground and the white ones work alongside the white of the beehive. The trees in the background show the gold of some writing from chocolate wrappers and have been used to show the light hitting the trees.
Giclee prints are made professionally using archival inks and paper. Different sizes are available. Price quoted is for a 35 x 35 cm and includes UK postage.
