I specialise in Animal, Wildlife and Pet portraits. I use carefully chosen photographs as reference for my paintings. I use various media including oil, acrylic ink and artist quality acrylic paint. I am a member of the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society.
My inspiration came when our beloved Collie 'Jack' sadly passed away at the age of 15 years. I decided that I wanted to capture his personality in a painting in a way that a photograph can not. I also wanted to create something that my family would cherish and remember him by. Jack was to be my first animal portrait as i had always favoured landscapes as my chosen subject. The joy that it gave me was incredible as I could see his image appear on the canvas right in front of me. It was then that I knew that this was the direction that I was destined to follow. I started to receive commisions almost immediately as it spread from friends to family to the wider public, all eager to capture their beloved 'Best Friends' as they remembered them. Since the day I first painted our lovely pet I haven't looked back.
